About The Position

The Bakery Clerk reports directly to the Bakery Department Manager and focuses on offering fresh bakery products to customers. The role includes receiving bakery supplies and processing, packaging, and displaying bakery products according to department requirements. The clerk also serves customers, takes orders, and helps keep the bakery department clean and well maintained.

The position requires working in a retail grocery-bakery environment and meeting department productivity, policy, standard operating procedure, quality, safety, attendance, and punctuality requirements. Work schedules are flexible and include overtime and weekends. The role involves continuous exposure to coolers and water and requires meeting physical demands and wearing safety attire.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a bakery.
• Ability to perform bakery operations, practices, and procedures in a retail grocery-bakery environment.
• Self-directed and results-oriented approach; project a positive business image and lead by example.
• Good attention to detail and follow-through skills.
• Good customer-relations skills.
• Ability to meet department productivity, policy, standard operating procedure, quality, and safety requirements.
• Ability to operate department equipment safely and efficiently; must be at least 18 years old to operate certain department equipment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends.
• Ability to work with continuous exposure to coolers and water and meet the physical demands of the job.
• Ability to meet and maintain job productivity, attendance, punctuality, and safety requirements, and wear safety attire.

Responsibilities
