About The Position

The Baker prepares and produces bakery products, processes customer orders, and helps maintain product quality, merchandising, and department operations. The role assists the Bakery Manager with production and replenishment decisions, supports new product ideas, and performs cleaning and equipment-related tasks. This is a part-time position at the Lititz Pike Fresh Foods location, with day and weekend availability required between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. The wage is $19.50 per hour. On-the-job training and leadership classes are available.

Responsibilities

Takes and processes customer orders according to customer requests, ensuring products are ready on time.
Assists the Bakery Manager in determining the variety and quantity of bakery products to produce or replenish based on orders, sales projections, and daily volume.
Assists with developing and implementing new product ideas.
Recognizes miss-picked merchandise and knows how to correct the problem.
Uses knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures to ensure product quality.
Merchandises the entrance case with appropriate stock levels based on the day, time of year, and special store events.
Prepares frozen products for baking.
Produces a variety of bakery products while ensuring proper production and quality.
Cleans the department area, including equipment, containers, storage areas, aisles, and displays.
Operates equipment as needed.
Operates a price scale and maintains knowledge of current prices; prices merchandise or changes price tags using the price list and coordinating with the scan department.
Receives, opens, and unpacks merchandise cartons and crates, checks invoices against received items, and promptly clears restocking equipment and debris from the floor.
Sets and signs merchandise displays to attract customers and promote sales.
Takes inventory or examines merchandise regularly to identify items that need reordering or replenishment.
