About The Position

Jeff's Bagel Run is seeking a dedicated individual to learn the bagel business and grow with the company. The goal is to bake fresh bagels, bring joy, and build community. The company started in 2019 and has grown to 30 locations. They operate as a team and close at 2pm every day. The ideal candidate will be disciplined, fast, take pride in consistency, and deliver a quality product. They must be willing to work in a small, hot space, boiling and baking bagels to keep up with high demand, and be a good teammate. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs and move quickly and efficiently under pressure. Other tasks may include cream cheese scooping, vegetable chopping, cookie baking, dishes, general cleaning, and front-of-house service when needed.

Requirements

Must be able to start work as early as 4am
Weekend availability required
Must be willing to work in a small, hot space, boiling and baking bagels to keep up with a high demand
Must be a good teammate
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and move quickly and efficiently under pressure

Nice To Haves

Restaurant or bakery experience would be a bonus

Responsibilities

Understand the importance of all baking procedures and recipes
Prep and bake bagels
Open Bake
Make all dough mixtures in a timely manner using correct procedures
Understand rotation and shelf life of raw dough
Clean and disinfect work area; set-up and break-down work station; and follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures
Proof bagels
Recognize the importance of time and temperature
Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
Knead and shape dough
Operate machinery to mix, knead, and shape dough
Monitor the quality of the dough throughout the process
Ensure that all equipment is clean and sanitized
Maintain a safe and organized work environment
