About The Position
The Bagger provides friendly, courteous customer service by bagging purchases, placing bags in carts, and carrying purchases to customers’ cars. The role also involves retrieving carts, keeping store and parking areas clean, stocking bags, handling merchandise left at checkout, and verifying prices. Training is provided at the store level. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. The description notes that other duties may be assigned at store management’s discretion. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Internal Schnucks candidates are subject to additional eligibility expectations, including preferred minimum tenure and good standing; interview invitations require manager approval based on performance.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be able to bend and stoop.
- Must be able to push 3 to 5 carts at a time.
- Must be able to work outside in seasonal weather.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift, which lasts 4–8 hours.
- For internal store/facility teammates, six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
- For internal Store Support Center teammates, one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
- Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
- Internal candidates invited to interview must have manager approval based on performance.
Nice To Haves
- For internal store/facility teammates, at least six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
- For internal Store Support Center teammates, at least one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
- Attend work regularly and reliably.
- Place customers’ purchases into bags and put filled bags in carts.
- Carry customers’ purchases to their cars.
- Retrieve carts from the parking lot.
- Pick up paper and debris in the store, parking lot, and carts.
- Stock bags on check stands.
- Empty trash from check stands and the service center.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Return merchandise left at checkout to shelves.
- Read and understand shelf tags.
- Verify merchandise prices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
