About The Position

This position is responsible for bagging, weighing, and inspecting tenders for defects. The role involves attaching bags to a line, holding them open for product filling, and placing filled bags onto a conveyor once they reach a specified weight. The individual will also visually and manually inspect tenders to ensure they meet weight specifications and are free of defects, setting aside any product that does not meet standards. Teamwork and adherence to Simmons' operating systems principles are crucial. This role also includes performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

Must lift up to 15 lbs.
Frequent reaching above and at shoulder level.
Constant standing; simple grasping; repetitive motion of hands; use of vision.
Must be able to speak and understand basic English.
Must be reliable in work attendance.
Must be attentive to detail to ensure proper weight and quality of product.

Responsibilities

Bags tenders and grades for weight and defects.
Attaches the bag to the line.
Holds the bag open as the product falls in.
Places the filled bag on a moving conveyor when it reaches a set weight.
Visually and manually inspects tenders to ensure they are within the proper weight specification and free of defects.
Sets product that does not meet standard in bag.
Participates as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team to resolve issues.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
