About The Position

Lift Truck Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of products to designated locations. This role involves inspecting lift trucks daily, scanning product information, verifying product quality, loading/unloading materials, and relocating them. Operators must notify supervision of any issues, maintain equipment, and report incidents immediately. Key tasks include doffing backing off looms, starting new rolls, making production tickets using CAMS, operating various lift trucks/hysters, moving beams with a hubtex, examining rolls/pallets/racks/cages for condition, setting materials in correct locations, prioritizing loom doffing, placing rolls in trailers, maintaining roll records, and supplying warp and fill yarn. The role also requires working with Shipping when needed and performing housekeeping duties. Adherence to all safety procedures is paramount.

Requirements

  • Must be able to doff (push) the backing off the loom and start a new roll
  • Must have the knowledge of product SKUs
  • Must be able to make production ticket using CAMS
  • Must be able to drive any kind of lift trucks/hysters
  • Maintain Lift Truck Certification
  • Computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • Ability to work around heavy industrial equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and shade differences

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous lift truck experience

Responsibilities

  • Inspect lift truck and complete daily lift truck inspection form at the beginning of each shift
  • Mount and dismount the lift truck throughout the shift to check product
  • Scan product information to enter details and complete necessary paperwork
  • Confirm container/product quality by verifying tag numbers with report information
  • Load/unload materials to relocate to designated areas
  • Notify supervision of any materials unable to locate
  • Maintain good working condition of the equipment
  • Inspect dock doors, chocks, pull chains, bumpers and pads and notify supervision of any repair needs
  • Report any incidents immediately
  • Work safely with complete adherence to all safety procedures
  • Doff (push) the backing off the loom and start a new roll
  • Make production ticket using CAMS
  • Drive any kind of lift trucks/hysters
  • Move full and empty beams with the hubtex
  • Examine each roll/pallet/rack/cage carefully to ensure it is in good condition
  • Set the material in the correct locations
  • Prioritize loom doffing
  • Place the rolls in the trailers and maintaining the roll records
  • Supply the warp yarn to the beaming creel and the fill yarn to the weaving
  • Work with Shipping when required
  • Perform housekeeping such as emptying trash cans, putting paper waste in cardboard trailers, putting water bottles etc
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
