About The Position
This position reports directly to the Director of Background Screening and provides professional expertise in the supervision of the Department's Background Screening Quality Assurance and Intra-Agency Screening units. This is professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e. recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.).
Requirements
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing the details of the screening process.
- Ability to work with Department and community partners for training and resolving background screening issues.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise the Background Screening quality assurance and intra-agency checks units, evaluating and reporting on individual and unit performance, and assessing processes, making recommendations for efficiencies and process improvements as observed.
- Collaborate with background screening team members on the development and reporting of quality assurance metrics to various audiences, and on the development of training materials and handbooks that serve as a qualitative guide to background screening.
- Ensures unit compliance with Departmental policies and operating procedures related to Background Screening.
- Performs other duties as required.
