Requirements

  • Completed IT degree (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Web Development), training as an IT specialist, or comparable qualification.
  • Senior experience in software development, ideally with architectural responsibility.
  • Very good knowledge of Java / Kotlin / Spring Boot.
  • Experience with databases, especially relational systems (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of frontend topics and interfaces (e.g., JavaScript / TypeScript is an advantage).
  • Ability to communicate, moderate, and jointly solve complex technical issues.
  • Initiative and genuine interest in actively shaping the product, architecture, and collaboration.
  • Fluent German and good English skills (team language is partly English).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JHipster / KHipster.
  • Knowledge of Delphi or experience working with ERP systems.
  • Exposure to GraphQL.
  • Knowledge in infrastructure / DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • As a Backend Architect, you are integrated into the SCRUM team and play a central role at the interface between backend, frontend, and our INTEGRA-ERP.
  • You actively shape the backend architecture, make well-founded architectural decisions based on common goals, and ensure that frontend and backend architecture mesh seamlessly.
  • You take on a technically defining role with clear architectural responsibility. Without classic personnel management, you can fully concentrate on content, concepts, and their implementation.
  • You thoroughly prepare architectural decisions, coordinate them with relevant stakeholders, document them comprehensibly, and confidently represent them to the team, frontend architecture, and adjacent areas.
  • Accompany the entire application lifecycle from conception to operation.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize backend web applications, including clean, reusable code, as well as error correction and debugging.
  • Responsibility for backend architectural decisions, considering existing systems, product goals, scalability, performance, and technical sustainability.
  • Coordinate and align interfaces between frontend, backend, and business-critical ERP systems.
  • Close collaboration with frontend developers and the frontend solution architect for the integration of UI elements, services, and functional requirements.
  • Mediate, moderate, and resolve functional and technical issues between frontend and backend development.
  • Further develop and modernize the existing system using modern technologies.
  • Hands-on support of architecture and decision-making, as well as documentation of architectural decisions and technical concepts.
  • Regular coordination with internal stakeholders, as well as observation and evaluation of new technologies.
