Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a strong software engineer candidate to contribute to our platform engineering team in Ireland. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies to build highly scalable and resilient integrations between the SilverCloud platform, web services, internal systems, and third-party applications. There is a focus on API development, with a small element of front-end work. The ideal candidate should have experience with Python, RESTful APIs, and MySQL, as well as modern web frameworks. The responsibilities include developing new integrations, testing and fixing bugs, and gaining knowledge in the behavioral healthcare space.

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across SilverCloud Health's engineering teams and partners.
• Participate in projects from start to finish, including scoping projects, measuring their success, and iterating based on customer feedback.
• Optimize web services for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure application observability through metrics, logging, and monitoring.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Work with colleagues in an agile environment, collaborating across design, product, and engineering to build scalable features.
• Have a strong technical background with at least 4+ years of experience working with web services and APIs, particularly Python/Django, MySQL, and RESTful web services.
• Possess a basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms like JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with authentication mechanisms like OAuth and SAML.
• Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience working with web services and APIs, preferably with Python/Django, MySQL, and RESTful web services
