About The Position

Rapsodo is hiring a Back-End Engineer to build and maintain the cloud services behind its sports technology products. Data captured by Rapsodo devices flows through the platform to athletes and coaches, often in real time. The engineer will develop APIs, databases, and event-driven services using Go, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform. The role offers the opportunity to ship production code early, with mentorship and code reviews from senior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in backend development with Go.
• Experience building cloud-based applications, preferably with Google Cloud Platform.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database design.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and microservices.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI into the software development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based backend applications using Go.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features aligned with business needs.
• Use PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch to design and optimize databases and data storage for efficient retrieval and real-time querying.
• Develop real-time applications and services on Google Cloud Platform using cloud-native tools and technologies.
• Implement RESTful APIs and microservices to support scalable, performant communication between application components.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while following software development best practices.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and user experience.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, and suggest innovations to enhance the backend architecture.
