About the position
dv01 is a data-first company that brings transparency to the structured finance market through its data analytics platform. They provide lenders and Wall Street investors with critical loan data and modern analytical tools to make data-driven decisions for responsible lending. As an engineer at dv01, you will have the opportunity to bring transparency to the financial markets, develop using a modern tech stack, collaborate with diverse teams, and gain knowledge of the financial industry.
Responsibilities
- Bring transparency to the financial markets by enabling customers to extract insights from large datasets
- Develop using a modern, open source stack including Scala + Play and build REST API and GraphQL endpoints
- Collaborate with other teams to create great products, including working with the product team, design team, data engineering team, and front-end engineers
- Gain knowledge of the financial industry and learn about the participants, terminology, and mathematics behind the sector
- Have a deep appreciation for engineering fundamentals and experience in developing complex products and architecture
- Be a visualization enthusiast and understand the value of visualization in communicating data insights
- Be curious to expand financial knowledge and be willing to learn on the job
- Familiarity with financial concepts, structured products, Google Cloud Platform, Google BigQuery, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Github Actions, Spark, R, Pandas, React, Redux, and Node.js is a plus.
Requirements
- Deep appreciation for engineering fundamentals with over 4 years of experience
- Experience developing complex products and architecture
- Strong in SQL and able to incorporate a deep understanding of the database and backend
- Experience with Scala/Java/C# is a big plus
- Data enthusiast with an understanding of the value of visualization in communicating data insights
- Curious to expand financial knowledge and adept at learning on the job
- Familiarity with financial concepts, specifically structured products (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Google BigQuery, and Kubernetes (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Git and Github Actions (nice to have)
- Familiarity with data analytics tools like Spark, R, or Pandas (nice to have)
- Familiarity with React, Redux, Node.js (nice to have)
