About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Back-Up Machine Operator to set up and operate packaging lines safely and efficiently on the Weekend Night Shift. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., providing a three-day workweek. The operator performs routine equipment checks, monitors packaging quality, troubleshoots minor machine issues, keeps production and quality records, maintains a clean and safe work area, communicates with the next shift, and may train new operators. Forklift training is provided, and training on packaging machine equipment is available. Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Willingness to obtain a forklift license; training is provided.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate packaging lines safely and efficiently.
Perform routine checks at the start of the shift and throughout the day to ensure machines are running properly.
Monitor packaging quality, including weights, seals, codes, and pricing.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and support maintenance as needed.
Maintain accurate records of production, film usage, and quality checks.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Communicate with the next shift and support teamwork across lines.
Train new operators as needed.
