About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Back-Up Machine Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals on the weekend day shift, working Monday to Thursday 5:25PM – 5:25AM. This role plays a critical part in supporting daily production operations by ensuring materials, equipment, and packaging lines run efficiently while meeting Utz’s high standards for quality and food safety. Requirements

Knowledge of sanitation and food safety procedures (GMP/SQF)
Basic computer/data entry skills
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Effective communication and teamwork
Ability to train and support others.

Responsibilities

Prepares and operates packaging machines and equipment including barrel fillers, printers, labelers, banding and sealing equipment, conveyors, etc.
Completes hourly weight and metal detector checks; verifies mix component percentages.
Completes all manufacturing paperwork in an efficient and accurate manner.
Troubleshoots Ishida scales and other equipment to resolve equipment issues.
Verifies correct weights, Julian date, and production codes.
Scans finished product into inventory with use of scanning equipment.
Must be able to obtain tow motor operator’s license.
Must be able to safely lift up more than 80 lbs.
Must have the ability to learn packing machine operations as required.
Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
