About The Position

As a Back Office Clinic Assistant, you’ll support patients before, during, and after their visits while working closely with clinicians and the rest of the health center team. On a typical day, you might: Welcome patients and prepare them for their visit Take patient histories, vital signs, and other clinical information Perform blood draws, injections, and laboratory testing within your training and scope Assist clinicians with procedures and patient care Provide patient education and instructions Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the health center Follow infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality standards Provide compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced health care environment
  • Comfort working directly with patients and providing hands-on clinical support
  • Ability to learn clinical procedures, workflows, and electronic health record systems
  • Commitment to providing inclusive, patient-centered care to people from diverse backgrounds and communities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a health care or clinical setting
  • Medical Assistant or similar clinical training or experience
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
