About The Position

Our client is an international manufacturer with more than 20 years of experience in logistics and warehouse storage products. Operating seven manufacturing facilities, the company produces solutions including wire mesh containers, roll cages, tire racks, and PET preform cages. Its customers include major global organizations as well as distributors across North America, Europe, and Asia. As the company expands its U.S. presence, they are looking for an experienced B2B Field Sales Representative to develop the Illinois market. This is a part-time, hands-on business development role combining outbound prospecting with in-person customer visits. You'll be responsible for identifying potential customers, opening new accounts, understanding their warehouse and storage requirements, and developing opportunities through to close.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience.
  • Professional experience within at least one of the following: Warehousing / warehouse storage, Logistics, Material handling, Industrial products, Automotive
  • Strong new business development and cold-calling experience.
  • Previous outside/field sales experience with in-person customer visits.
  • Currently located in Illinois; Chicago or the surrounding area is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Comfortable working approximately 10–15 hours per week.
  • Able to work through Upwork for the engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new B2B customers throughout Illinois.
  • Conduct outbound cold calls and generate new sales opportunities.
  • Visit prospects and customers in person to understand their operational and storage needs.
  • Develop relationships with warehouses, logistics companies, manufacturers, distributors, and automotive-sector customers.
  • Present warehouse storage and material-handling products based on customer requirements.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop the territory independently while collaborating with the company's international team.
