About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking multiple B-Pressure Welders to join our valued client's team in Calgary, Alberta. These are full-time permanent positions on a Monday to Friday schedule. You will be welding pressure vessels and related components to code, with regular air arc gouging work on heavy wall material. This role suits a Journeyperson Welder who holds a current B-Pressure ticket, takes pride in weld quality, and wants steady local work without rotation or travel.

Requirements

  • Valid Alberta B-Pressure ticket in good standing
  • Journeyperson Welder certification
  • Proven pressure vessel welding experience
  • Demonstrated air arc gouging experience
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and welding procedure specifications
  • Comfortable welding in all positions on carbon steel and alloy material
  • Strong understanding of weld quality standards and code requirements
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work a consistent Monday to Friday schedule
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Own welding hood, hand tools, and CSA approved PPE

Nice To Haves

  • Red Seal Welder certification
  • CWB tickets and current pressure welder performance qualifications
  • Experience with ASME Section VIII vessel fabrication or repair
  • Experience with stainless steel and chrome alloy welding
  • Overhead crane and rigging experience
  • Current safety tickets such as CSTS, H2S Alive, First Aid, or Fall Protection

Responsibilities

  • Perform B-Pressure welding on pressure vessels, piping, and related components to code
  • Complete air arc gouging, back gouging, and weld preparation on heavy wall material
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, weld maps, and welding procedure specifications
  • Fit up, tack, and weld carbon steel and alloy materials in all positions
  • Perform SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes as required by the job
  • Inspect completed welds visually and support NDE and third party inspection requirements
  • Grind, prep, and clean welds to meet quality and finish standards
  • Operate cutting torches, grinders, and hand and power tools safely
  • Maintain welding equipment and report deficiencies to the supervisor
  • Follow all site safety procedures, complete FLHAs, and participate in daily toolbox meetings
