About The Position

Responsible for building components used in the manufacturing process. Performs complex tasks related to welding fabrication. Fit up, tack weld and final weld out of ASME pressure tanks. This position is responsible for ensuring that all welding is completed with the qualified Weld Procedure Specification (WPS). To ensure that product is built to required code specifications and approved Engineering drawing. This position reports to the Value Stream Supervisor of the designated area. This role is onsite and based at our Fort Worth, Texas location.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience in welding fabrication.
  • Requires a current forklift license (Training and Certification issued by Watts)
  • Ability to use and understand dimensional tools including tape measure, calipers, and weld gauges.
  • Aptitude to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a 2G GMAW Welding Test
  • Ability to pass a 2G GTAW Welding Test
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • ASME experience a plus.
  • Initiative to self-train and advance to Welder A.
  • 6G pipe test required for advancement.
  • 3 years ASME pressure vessel fabrication experience
  • Combination welder (GMAW, GTAW)
  • Experience with Duplex Stainless Steel and/ or welding Exotic materials.
  • Fanuc robot programming and operation.
  • Lincoln Electric welder machine experience.
  • Setting, adjusting and programming.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls parts listed on the bill of material (BOM) and checks against blueprints and work orders.
  • Follows rules that are required by ASME Section 1, Section IV, HLW, and Section VIII Division 1.
  • Builds parts according to working instructions and engineered production drawings.
  • Performs duplex stainless steel and carbon steel welding.
  • Checks all tools and performs preventive maintenance.
  • Changes out consumables and assists with the maintenance of tools.
  • Check overhead cranes to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Complete daily crane safety logs.
  • Utilizes crane and/or forklift for material handling.
  • Assists with the inspection of parts and inventory reviews.
  • Attend regular safety meetings and training.
  • Gathers, cleans, and inspects safety gear.
  • Organizes and cleans work area daily.
  • Provides guidance and answers questions for colleagues with less experience.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Supervisors and/or managers and other applicable Company management teams.
