About The Position

Ledcor is seeking a skilled B-Pressure Welder with Rig for a major expansion project in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. This role involves performing pressure welding on piping systems according to ABSA codes, WPS, and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with SMAW (stick) and GTAW (tig) welding on carbon steel and alloy piping for industrial applications, and be able to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, welding procedures, and drawings. The position requires supporting rigging and positioning of pipe, completing FLHAs and following site safety procedures, maintaining welding equipment, and completing tasks safely and efficiently within project deadlines.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Welder ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
• Initial Alberta B‑Pressure Welder Certification is valid
• Previous industrial construction experience required
• Successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Confined space entry & monitor ticket
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean 3‑year abstract
• Project online orientations must be completed

Nice To Haves

• Additional tickets for welding stainless stee, 304H are preferred but not required
• Provide current DSP (Direct Service Provider) documentation

Responsibilities

• Perform pressure welding on piping systems in accordance with ABSA codes, WPS, and project specifications
• Execute SMAW (stick) and GTAW (tig) welding on carbon steel and alloy piping for industrial applications
• Read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, welding procedures, and drawings to ensure accurate work
• Complete fit-up, root pass, fill, and cap welding to meet quality and code requirements
• Support rigging and positioning of pipe using appropriate equipment and safe practices
• Complete FLHAs and follow all site safety procedures, including hot work permits and lockout/tagout
• Maintain welding rig, tools, and consumables to ensure safe and efficient operation on site
• Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and within project deadlines, following Ledcor’s high standards for safety and quality
