This role involves performing structural fitting operations on marine vessels with limited supervision, utilizing standard shipfitting equipment. The B Class Structural Fitter will be responsible for the basic layout of plates, materials, and weldments using engineering sketches, drawings, and diagrams. Key duties include fitting up structures, cutting, sniping, sanding, grinding, prepping, tacking, and arc gouging. The position requires obtaining GMAW ABS ‘B’ Class Weld Certification for aluminum and/or FCAW ‘B’ Class Weld Certification for steel applications. The fitter must ensure safe and effective use of craft-related tools and equipment, interpret job specifications, and monitor the working environment for compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations. The role may involve working any shift and performing tasks outside the craft as required, while adhering to the Company’s Equal Opportunity and Anti-Harassment Policy.
