About The Position

Structural fitters are responsible for installing steel and other materials that make up a building's frame. They work closely with architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure that all the pieces fit together properly and nothing is missing when construction is complete.

Requirements

  • NCCER Certified or 5 years of work experience
  • Must be able to read and speak English
  • High School Education or equivalent
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Provide your own personal tool in a lockable toolbox

Responsibilities

  • Read Blueprints and understand structural engineering principles
  • Understand section and plan drawings as well as weld symbols
  • Must be able to read and derive measurements, dimensions, and quantity of material needed to fabricate a structure
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products such as beams, braces, pipes, and plates for offshore drilling jackets and decks
  • Use Come-a-longs, chain falls, and other industry tools and equipment, and install, use, and remove stop plates, dogs, and pad eyes
  • Strong communication skills to clearly explain any issues and/or concerns to team members.
