About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Azure Data Software Engineer located in Pearl City, Hawaii, to support USPACOM. The role designs, implements, and maintains a full-stack software system providing Data Analytics and AI Services to Government stakeholders. The back end ingests raw data from diverse sources, enriches it through AI services, and delivers curated datasets for analytics and machine learning. The front end offers end users a catalog of services, including data visualizations, data ingest, and document generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of related experience, or an additional four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience building data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Medallion architecture principles and their practical implementation.
• Experience integrating Azure AI services into data workflows.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency designing front-end UI/UX.
• Proficiency in graph-based architecture and software such as LangGraph.
• Proficiency in containerization and cloud deployment.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD for data engineering.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
• Must be a current U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources, including APIs, databases, and streaming feeds, into Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Integrate Azure AI services, such as Azure Machine Learning, into transformation workflows for intelligent enrichment.
• Optimize ETL/ELT processes for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with data scientists to ensure datasets are AI-ready and aligned with model requirements.
• Automate pipeline monitoring, error handling, and alerting through CI/CD integration.
• Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to data governance and security best practices.
