About The Position
This is a private posting for CFISD High School students only. Applications are accepted by appropriate referral only. The applicant must be a current CFISD high school student and meet pre-employment qualifications, including a drug test and medical physical. The role involves performing routine maintenance and service on school vehicles under supervision, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, operating fuel islands and wash racks, assisting technicians, utilizing service materials, maintaining repair records, and operating equipment safely. The position also requires promoting safety, correcting unsafe conditions, and communicating professionally with colleagues and the community. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and service (tire service, oil changes, transmission services) on school vehicles under the supervision of the Shop Foreman.
- Keep shop, equipment, and tools clean and in safe and efficient operating condition.
- Safe operation of center fuel island and wash rack to refuel and wash vehicles.
- Keep center fuel island and wash rack stocked and in proper working order.
- Assist vehicle technicians and mechanic helpers with the operation of all tools, and equipment repair as needed.
- Access and utilize printed/electronic service material, and follow manufacturer’s established diagnostic and repair procedures.
- Maintain accurate updated records of time and materials required to perform repairs, service, and preventive maintenance assignments.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow and promote safety in the shop by ensuring established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties (including lifting, climbing, etc.) are followed.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Communicate and interact in a professional manner with co-workers, department personnel, and community members at all times.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
