As an AWS Systems Administrator – Level 2 or 3, you will be supporting our Software and Electronics/Payloads Department which has ~200 Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Network Engineers, and Engineering Leaders from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects to Product Owners and Scrum Masters. This engineering organization supports numerous programs across Divisions and Business Units of the Space Sector. We have opportunities for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions over one’s career. This role can be located at our Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum MD locations. On this team, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. This position is contingent upon the candidate verification/obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. This requisition may be filled at either a level 2, or a level 3 (Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.

Requirements

• Level 2 : Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Level 3 : Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret ( TS )/Sensitive Compartmented Information ( SCI ) clearance [ TS/SCI ] current and within scope, AND an adjudicated Counterintelligence polygraph ( CI Poly adjudicated within last 5 years ) at time of application

Nice To Haves

• Experience deploying Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible)
• Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM, ICD 503, or JSIG information system environments
• Current Virtualization experience and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Knowledge of networking, including subnets, routing, VLANs and VTCs
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (Grafana/HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk)
• Scripting experience
• Operating System Cross-platform awareness (i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.)
• Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment
• Experience with Assessment & Authorization process
• Experience with Python or C++

Responsibilities

• Position requires 24/7 on-call support 1 week per month for Tier 2 support
• Must have a current Security+ CE certification (or equivalent IAT level II cert)
• Experience with Linux Server Administration in a classified environment is required
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining resources in an AWS cloud environment needed
• Must have experience implementing STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) on Linux systems
