About The Position

We are seeking an experienced AWS/Java Developer to join our team. The role involves building and managing cloud solutions using various AWS services, developing Java-based applications, and modernizing legacy systems. You will collaborate with stakeholders, design and test cloud-native applications, and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, security, and performance optimization. This position requires strong communication skills and experience with DevOps and data pipeline development.

Requirements

  • Proficient in using various AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue Crawlers, and Athena to build and manage cloud solutions.
  • Experience in software development with hands-on skills in Java, J2EE, Java Spring framework, and hibernate technology.
  • Experience in modernizing applications, including refactoring, migration, and cloud-native development.
  • Knowledge of modern database technologies and strategies for migrating and modernizing database systems.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders including developers, business analysts, and other team members.
  • Experience working with transactional or RDMS databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum Framework environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence solutions such as Power BI or AWS QuickSight.
  • Knowledge or experience using ETL tools.
  • AWS Certification.
  • Experience working within a government environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective modernization strategies.
  • Design, develop, and test Java-based, cloud-native applications and backend systems.
  • Utilize AWS services within application architecture.
  • Develop, test, debug, and deliver within timeline using best tools and best practices available.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensure security best practices, and maintain clean, efficient code.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Work with product managers, business stakeholders, and other team members to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Create AWS ETL jobs and data pipelines with high volumes of data.
  • Modernize legacy applications, including refactoring or migrating in-house legacy applications to the cloud environment.
  • Utilize AWS services and related components towards building enterprise level Data Lakes.
