Awake Overnight Caregiver (DSP) - Mankato, MN
About The Position
The Direct Support Professional (Awake Overnight) provides dependable and compassionate overnight support to individuals with disabilities served by Harry Meyering Center. Remaining awake throughout the shift, this role focuses on maintaining a safe, calm environment, responding to needs or emergencies, and offering reassurance and assistance as needed. DSPs may support personal care, monitor health and safety, complete documentation, and help ensure the home remains comfortable and secure. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support individuals during the overnight hours through respectful, person‑centered care that truly makes a difference.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
- Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and changing.
- Ability to do household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
