About The Position

Under direction of the Vice President of People Experience & Culture, provides strategic direction, design, and oversight of DFW Airport’s Total Rewards programs. This role leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation, benefits, wellness, retirement, and leave programs that support the organization’s culture, operational goals, and workforce needs. The leader ensures all programs are compliant, competitive, cost‑effective, and aligned with organizational strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, business and/or related field.
  • Five (5) years of senior-level experience with a strong focus in developing, managing and implementing company-wide Total Reward programs and HR Information Systems.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Knowledge of the research, theory and practice of the impact of strategic Total Reward programs, Health and Wellness, work life and culture within organizations.
  • Knowledge of current rules, regulations, laws, principles, and practices related to Total Rewards including benefit programs, compensation, job evaluation, organizational analysis, disability programs, employee health and wellness, HR records and information management.
  • Knowledge of current compensation, benefit and wellness theories, methodologies and best practices.
  • Skill in working effectively with various levels to influence decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills and broad management skills, including team building and strategic relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment, initiative, independent action and versatility while embracing challenging and diverse assignments.
  • Ability to monitor and manage costs related to Total Rewards, and Health and Wellness programs.
  • Ability to link business objectives with human capital objectives to drive organizational success.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects under time constraints.
  • Ability to maintain internal and external relationships with key audiences.
  • Ability to plan and direct projects from inception to completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business or public administration, human resources management, or a related field.
  • Certification in compensation and or benefits through a recognized organization such as World at Work, Certified Employee Benefits Specialists (CEBS) or Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
  • Experience integrating health and wellness program with medical benefits program.
  • Experience managing an on-site clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, planning, and execution of the Total Rewards strategy and its major components, including benefits, compensation, leave administration, disability management, and employee health and wellness.
  • Directs the analysis, administration, and continuous improvement of Benefits, Compensation, Leave Programs, and HR Projects to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
  • Oversees development, tracking, and reporting of Total Rewards budgets, utilization trends, market studies, cost analyses, and benchmarking across benefits, compensation, retirement plans, and wellness.
  • Directs internal and outsourced administration of benefits programs, including Medical, Dental, Disability, FMLA, Leave of Absence programs, Life/AD&D insurance, COBRA, and retiree benefits. Ensures accurate eligibility, enrollment, compliance, advocacy support, and issue resolution.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including ACA, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, and state/local requirements.
  • Develops and advances an integrated benefits and wellness strategy aimed at improving employee health outcomes, enhancing engagement, and reducing medical costs. Partners with HRIS to create dashboards and analytics to measure performance, utilization, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversees administration of Compensation programs including salary structure management, market pricing, job evaluation, reclassification, merit processes, and short‑term incentive plan administration.
  • Directs the outsourced disability and leave management programs including short‑term disability, long‑term disability, FMLA, ADAAA accommodation requests, Return‑to‑Work programs, and related employee support activities.
  • Ensures alignment and collaboration with Finance, Internal Communications, and other stakeholders to effectively implement Total Rewards strategies and initiatives.
  • Sponsors development, maintenance, and communication of Total Rewards policies, procedures, and guidelines that support organizational culture and meet statutory requirements.
  • Manages vendor relationships, negotiations, and contracted services to ensure optimal performance, ROI, and service delivery.
  • Oversees the creation and distribution of Total Rewards communications, including policies, forms, procedures, handbooks, brochures, and employee‑facing resources.
  • Ensures efficient processes are designed, implemented, and continuously improved to support accurate benefits administration, timely leave and disability case management, and rapid resolution of compensation and benefits inquiries.
