About The Position

The Associate Vice President of Benefits provides operational and strategic leadership for the organization's benefits administration function, specifically the open enrollment process. This role owns the health of partner books year-round, tracking utilization trends, flagging renewal risk before it becomes a client complaint, ensuring partners receive rate context before it lands on their clients, and acting as the consistent point of connection between Benefits and National Partnerships. It works closely with the EVP of Benefits, the SVP of National Partnerships, and the Chief Sales Officer to ensure what we deliver operationally matches what we sell and what our partners expect from us. This is not a reactive role. It is a year-round function designed to prevent the escalations we are managing today from happening again next cycle.

  • Connect Benefits and the Channel: Act as the day-to-day bridge between Benefits and National Partnerships. Make sure both sides are aligned and working toward the same outcomes. Eliminate the gaps that slow us down or create confusion for partners.
  • Identify and manage retention risk: Build a clear view of which clients are at risk and why. Equip internal teams and partners with specific actions to improve retention before issues surface — not after they escalate.
  • Support complex situations without adding noise: Step in on more complicated benefit scenarios to provide clarity and direction. Take pressure off the partner and internal teams so they can stay focused on the relationship and the client.
