About The Position

The AVP & Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for developing new residential mortgage and home equity loans by cultivating relationships with referral sources such as realtors, builders, attorneys, and financial advisors. This role involves active participation in networking, community outreach, and marketing initiatives to generate business. The officer will conduct in-depth consultations with borrowers to understand their financial needs and recommend suitable loan products, while also gathering, analyzing, and verifying financial documentation to ensure creditworthiness and loan eligibility. Serving as a trusted advisor, the officer will guide clients through the entire loan process, from application to closing. Additionally, the role includes managing an existing loan portfolio, processing renewals, and identifying cross-selling opportunities for bank products. Loan terms must be structured in compliance with internal policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Collaboration with the Pre-Funding Manager, underwriters, processors, and closers is essential for ensuring smooth and timely closings, and pipeline activity must be monitored to proactively address any delays or exceptions.

Requirements

  • Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license in applicable states.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and secondary market standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Proficient with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • A valid driver’s license.
