About The Position

This role involves leading national acute care pharmacy operations across 90 acute care hospitals. The position requires establishing and implementing pharmacy operational standards and initiatives, driving standardization and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance pharmacy operations, processes, technology, safety, and outcomes. The role also involves taking national initiatives from concept through implementation, partnering with market pharmacy leaders, hospital presidents, CEOs, and other senior executives to build trust and alignment across a complex, decentralized organization. Additionally, the position focuses on developing pharmacy leadership and talent through supporting leadership development, professional development, and succession planning, and building relationships with pharmacy leaders to promote a strong national pharmacy community. The role also requires navigating regulatory, clinical, operational, and strategic issues, providing executive-level oversight related to pharmacy policy, regulatory compliance, controlled substances, technology, medication safety, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: Required Credential(s): Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required
  • Work Experience: 7 years of experience required.
  • 5 years of cumulative leadership or management experience required.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hospital/acute care pharmacy experience
  • Current or most recent role must be in a hospital/health-system environment
  • Leadership experience at the Manager, Director, Assistant Director, VP, or similar level

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy Residency preferred.
  • Hospital pharmacy leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Pharmacy residency, particularly hospital pharmacy residency, preferred
