About The Position

The Avionics Technician performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in accordance with approved maintenance data and Kalitta Air and FAA requirements. The technician reads and interprets applicable maintenance instructions and documents work and discrepancies. The role follows company and FAA policies, procedures, and safety rules, and maintains a neat and clean work area. Additional duties may be assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Foreman.

Work is performed primarily in a construction or maintenance setting, where noise is usually loud. The position requires reading, writing, and understanding spoken and written English, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence. The employee must be a United States citizen.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• Ability to meet the described physical demands, including occasionally lifting or moving more than 50 pounds; reasonable accommodations may be made.

Nice To Haves

• Some college and/or technical school.
• Airframe or A&P License (preferred but not required).
• Military experience is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret applicable maintenance instructions, including AMMs, SRMs, WDMs, IPCs, EAs, and routine task cards.
• Troubleshoot and repair discrepancies in accordance with approved maintenance data.
• Perform and document all work in accordance with Kalitta Air and FAA requirements.
• Document discrepancies identified while performing maintenance tasks.
• Follow Kalitta Air and FAA policies and procedures.
• Follow Kalitta Air safety rules and procedures, and bring identified safety-related deficiencies to the company’s attention.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Foreman.
