About The Position

Entry-level avionics technician performing installation, modifications, maintenance, software loading, and troubleshooting on VIP aircraft. This role requires basic knowledge of avionics systems and the ability to interpret technical documents. The technician will modify, repair, replace, and perform routine maintenance on aircraft, utilizing specialized tools and documenting work accurately. Responsibilities also include fabricating wire bundles, assisting with troubleshooting and repairs, operating ground support and test equipment, and maintaining a clean work area. The position emphasizes regular attendance, promptness, and appropriate conduct with coworkers.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of avionics installation, modification, maintenance, and system integration.
  • Ability to accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wire diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders, and other documents.
  • Ability to properly utilize and maintain Avionics hand tools.
  • Ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Ability to fabricate wire bundles and assemblies per drawings and standard practices.
  • Ability to assist with troubleshooting issues, replacement, or repair of parts, testing, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Ability to operate ground support equipment (e.g., GPUs, Hi-Reach).
  • Ability to operate test equipment (e.g., Pitot Static Cart, Navigation test sets).
  • Ability to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Ability to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to reach overhead.
  • Ability to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.
  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to work overtime, as required.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Must qualify as a US Person for programs subject to ITAR.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of avionics experience.
  • Familiarity with the Standard Wiring Practices Manual.
  • Airframe (A) or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.

Responsibilities

  • Modify, repair, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in a specialized area.
  • Utilize and maintain Avionics hand tools for repairs and installations.
  • Accurately document work performed daily using the standard format.
  • Fabricate wire bundles and assemblies per drawings and standard practices.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues, replacement, or repair of parts, testing, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Operate ground support equipment (e.g., GPUs, Hi-Reach) as required.
  • Operate test equipment (e.g., Pitot Static Cart, Navigation test sets) as required.
  • Help with general clean-up of the work area.
  • Accurately clock to jobs.
  • Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
  • Exhibit effective and appropriate conduct with coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
