Assists in troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to ensure minimum schedule impact. Demonstrates technical expertise by implementing process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising safety or quality. This role requires basic technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting. Under supervision, the technician performs the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system. The position also involves ensuring the quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshooting processes/concepts for timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems, and acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively repair or replace defective components and wiring. This includes demonstrating effective repair techniques using acceptable practices such as splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring. The technician will perform and comply with engineering changes and modifications, assist in the setup and operation of necessary test equipment, and conduct functional and operational tests. Under supervision, they ensure all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented and ready for inspection, and they test and maintain test equipment, electronic systems, and components. Compliance with the company's FOD program, tool control program, 5S program, and all safety regulations is also required. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, flight tests on aircraft may be included as required. The job requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
