About The Position
Develop the academic and personal strength of AVID students using AVID strategies (WICR: writing, inquiry, collaboration, and reading).
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Good communication skills.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
- Is able to do assessment and grading.
- Is able to do comparing and computing.
- Has flexible availability.
Nice To Haves
- Previous AVID student is preferred.
- Strong Math and Science skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support for students in rigorous courses.
- Facilitate the tutorial learning process and implement AVID methodologies.
- Actively participate in collaborative groups and tutorials.
- Participate in motivational activities when possible.
- Become a master of each stage of the AVID tutorial and inquiry learning process.
- Act as a role model and mentor.
- Adhere to district/site policies and procedures.
- Arrive on time and prepared for class.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
