About The Position

The City of Dallas is seeking an Aviation Trusted Agent to process airport security identification media (badges) in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and airport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This role is crucial for maintaining airport security and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The position involves direct interaction with applicants and holders of airport ID media, managing security clearances, and overseeing training requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of customer service experience which involved responding to complex inquiries, heavy data entry, analyzing documentation for accuracy, processing applications/permits and/or compliance/credentialing verification.
  • Must successfully pass and maintain a clear Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security threat assessment.
  • Knowledge of City organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of trucks, tools, and equipment according to airport operating and safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate a variety of simple to complex power tools or power equipment used in construction or landscaping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of people.
  • Knowledge of Applicable laws, standards and regulations relation to airport operations and safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of trust management and related policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate via two way radio with the Federal Aviation Association FAA and Air Traffic Controller.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships.

  • A current Airport Certified Employee (ACE) – Trusted Agent certification will meet the education and experience requirements.
  • Associate degree (or higher) in any field plus one (1) year of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collects information from applicants and current airport ID media holders for Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA) clearance via the Designated Aviation Channeler.
  • Handles and reviews badge applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Determines applicant’s identity in accordance with federal regulations, TSA requirements, and airport policies.
  • Ensures STA approval is received from TSA prior to issuing ID media.
  • Oversees security training and ensures SIDA badge applicants have successfully completed security training prior to SIDA badge issuance.
  • Accurately logs, tracks, and reconciles the issuance, loss, theft, return, and destruction of control number items.
  • Maintains a list of unaccumulated ID media (stop list) to prevent unauthorized access to secure areas.
  • Files and labels all required forms.
  • Accurately collects fees using SAP (Pay 1) for processing payments and billing accounts.
  • Communicates with customers via telephone and email.
  • Processes applications and ensures a variety of media ID and vehicle stickers/vehicle caps are issued and maintained in accordance with TSA regulations.
  • Verifies information submitted to the Security Credentialing Office regarding badge applications, communicates the status of security identification media, schedules fingerprinting and training appointments, and safeguards other general information.
  • Subject to varying shifts, including working some weekends.
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.
