About The Position

Airport Trusted Agents are members of the airport Security Operations Team that interact directly with CLT customers and tenant stakeholders in the airport Credentialing Office. Trusted Agents QC, obtain, validate and process various regulatory and security related background checks including employee testing, identification and work authorization validation, biographical information collection and safeguarding, fingerprinting, employee vetting and issuance of airport identification badges in accordance with various local and federal governing requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or GED equivalent) plus 1 relevant year experience
  • Must have the ability to pass a federally mandated background check. Particular convictions will preclude the candidate from obtaining the requisite credentials for airport employment.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a city driver's license, which requires a valid driver's license in NC or adjacent states. This license is necessary for operating City vehicles around the airport campus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other agencies, tenants, employees and the public, and represent CLT in a professional, positive manner.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies and other stressful situations, assess situations quickly, objectively and determine the proper course of action within established rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Must be able to operate computer, badging and electronic fingerprinting equipment, enter data and print employee identification badges

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience at a commercial service airport, general aviation airport, air carrier, or in military aviation in a position in airport operations, safety or airport management, or experience in a high-end service environment with direct interaction with customers.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment, adhering to local, state and federal level directives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate adaptability, possess a high-level attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify all badge and fingerprint applications, ensuring the authenticity of identification and work authorization documents by federal mandates.
  • Safeguard the privacy and security of personal information submitted during the badging application process, protecting it from unauthorized use.
  • Adhere to all regulations regarding protecting personal information (PII) and security information (SSI).
  • Perform data entry and validation and generate reports and audits for employee unescorted access determinations.
  • Issue Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badges and permits to obtain Criminal History Records Checks (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessments (STA) results, following regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect documents submitted for employee identification and grant security clearances.
  • Operate computers, access control systems, appointment systems, identity management tools, and electronic fingerprinting equipment.
  • Identify and provide training and testing for employees who access and drive vehicles in restricted airport areas.
  • Interpret and comply with federal regulations, procedures, and instructions to ensure the safety of individuals and the security of airport property. Assess situations quickly and objectively to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Issue and process relevant security violations and maintain databases, logs, records, and reports.
  • Administer Custom Seal applications and endorsements for airport staff by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in alignment with airport and city customer service expectations.
  • Evaluate requests and construct and issue specific clearances to all airport personnel and contactors by evaluating and verifying their security credentials and background checks, ensuring compliance with all airport and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain credentialing information on relevant media platforms including web pages, appointment system messages, Standard Operating Procedures and ID Management System (IDMS) launch pages.
  • Collect analyze operation and related credentialing data to assist operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Collect and interpret administrative data for billing and invoice purposes.
  • Assist Credentialing Adjudicators as needed in processing background investigations in determining unescorted access eligibility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
