The Aviation Planning Analyst ensures that aircraft maintenance work packages are processed efficiently through initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure for each aircraft visit, with an emphasis on quality and accuracy. The analyst stays involved with assigned projects to maintain accurate aircraft status, plans and prices customer work packages and programs for labor and materials, and creates, updates, and monitors production schedules and milestones. The role also creates and updates program billing groups as needed. The analyst coordinates package preparation, estimates labor by skill and identifies material and tooling requirements, and prepares complete packages for production. This includes organizing billing groups, entering work cards into the Pentagon System, preparing bar-coded paperwork, researching and attaching technical references, and developing and updating aircraft phasing charts and flowcharts. The role also provides post-departure analytical reports, supports resource forecasting, schedules pre-induction meetings, and maintains project lesson-learned files. The completed package handed over to production includes pre-dock and contract review, manpower, tooling and material requirements, and relevant technical data. The position requires familiarity with maintenance programs and the ability to read and understand aircraft manuals and drawings, as well as knowledge of aircraft scheduling and maintenance packages. The analyst must be able to perform the functions of other members of the Planning office and may take on other duties and special projects as assigned. Work is primarily in a normal office environment, with approximately 70% of work performed sitting. The role also involves frequent exposure to outside hangar areas for meetings and employee-relations functions.
