General MRO Aerospace (GMA) is a globally recognized FAA 145 Repair Station that specializes in maintenance and repairs of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel and electromechanical aircraft components. Requirements
- Two years of related experience.
- Proven experience in applying protective coatings and paints.
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, including cleaning, sanding, and material prepping.
- Ability to use tools, equipment and materials in the aircraft painting process.
- Vocational School, High School Diploma or GED required.
- Authorized to work.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sand, and mask aerospace component surfaces using hand and power tools in preparation for coating application.
- Mix paints and primers, and apply glaze and sealing compounds in preparation for final painting.
- Use airless spray equipment to apply coatings, achieving uniform coverage and smooth finishes across intricate geometries.
- Perform industrial coating work to aerospace specifications, incorporating auto body repair techniques as required.
- Perform sealant work during final detail operations.
- Operate and maintain painting prep equipment, and care for shop tools and equipment.
- Inspect finished work with precision measuring tools, confirming that color, texture, and film thickness conform to specifications.
- Follow safety policies, use required PPE, and adhere to paint shop standard practices and hazardous material disposal procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
