About The Position

This role involves performing and overseeing scheduled and unscheduled inspections of company aircraft to ensure safety, compliance, and readiness. The manager will enforce adherence to company policies, maintenance procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) across all line operations. They will partner with the Chief of Maintenance and Technicians to support daily operations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance of all maintenance activities. Additionally, the role includes developing, scheduling, and overseeing training programs for maintenance staff, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. The manager will monitor, track, and ensure compliance with all Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and OEM inspection program requirements. Analysis and trending of aircraft component, accessory, and appliance data, with findings submitted to OEMs or FAA as required, are also key responsibilities. The role also entails leading audits of third-party maintenance providers, ensuring inspections, repairs, and documentation are performed by qualified personnel and meet regulatory standards, and overseeing the designation and performance of Required Inspection Item (RII) Inspectors. The manager will inspect aircraft parts, components, and documentation as needed, maintain technical libraries, supervise and direct personnel assigned to inspection and maintenance functions, and oversee the calibration program for special measurement tools, equipment, and gauges. Finally, the manager will represent the maintenance team on the Lowe’s Safety Committee, ensuring integration of quality assurance practices within the company’s Safety Management System.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Aviation Quality/Inspection Area with a large organization
  • 10 years of aircraft maintenance or equivalent management experience
  • 3 Years Year experience managing, supervising and/or directing Aviation Technicians
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P).
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and OEM inspection programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct personnel assigned to inspection and maintenance functions, ensuring safe use of shop equipment and proper calibration of tools and gauges.
  • Oversee the calibration program for special measurement tools, equipment, and gauges in compliance with FARs.
  • Represent the maintenance team on the Lowe’s Safety Committee, ensuring integration of quality assurance practices within the company’s Safety Management System.
