About The Position

TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service their existing customers in the north New Jersey area. The successful candidate will work from home and will be dispatched to client sites to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in Board rooms and conference rooms. Seeking candidates who are well-versed troubleshooters in Audio Video technology, with experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp. The role involves providing in-person troubleshooting of audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers. The candidate must be professional and have the ability to interface with enterprise customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience with AV troubleshooting.
  • Experience with AV troubleshooting, specifically with Crestron systems.
  • Ability to reverse engineer legacy AV systems.
  • Ability to debug newly built systems.
  • Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with Extron equipment, Biamp, QSC audio DSP products and systems, Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems, Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches, and Video wall systems: Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco products and systems.
  • Testing experience with multimeter and ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to research and specify replacement products.
  • Intermediate to advanced AV Networking skills.
  • Customer interfacing skills and experience working with customers regularly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Custom Control systems: Crestron DM and NVX / AMX.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to complex audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to video teleconferencing equipment and systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) networks for the use of audio-visual data over LAN, WAN and internet.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Audio DSP based systems to include amplifiers, speakers and microphones.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to projection display devices and systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to video wall equipment and systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to digital signage equipment and systems.
  • To a lesser degree: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to RF Systems (analog and digital).
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • A two-year diploma from a college of technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years minimum field service experience.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Audiovisual, Cat6, Audio, Service, Video conferencing, Installation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CTS certification highly preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with AV equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and understand Crestron systems.
  • Reverse engineer legacy AV systems.
  • Debug newly built systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with Extron equipment, Biamp and QSC audio DSP products and systems, Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems, Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches, and Video wall systems (Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco).
  • Perform testing with a multimeter to troubleshoot issues.
  • Research and specify replacement products.
  • Perform preventative maintenance testing.
  • Conduct site surveys related to service agreement quotes.
  • Write concise service reports and/or system site surveys.
  • Manage multiple service projects.
  • Lead and mentor junior/intermediate level field service techs.
