AV Installation Technician
About The Position
Genesis Automation Inc. is hiring an Audio Visual Integration Technician to install, configure, and maintain audiovisual systems in customer environments. The role combines audio, video, control systems, and computer networking, with testing to ensure components work as intended. It involves hands-on installation, technical troubleshooting, and responsive customer service, primarily in the field. The position is based at 2830 W State Rd 84, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33312. It is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an on-call service rotation. The role reports to Keith, Director of Operations. Compensation is $28–$50 per hour based on experience.
Requirements
- Experience on construction sites.
- Ability to climb ladders, pull cabling, and use power tools and hand tools.
- Dependable work history.
- Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a team-oriented attitude.
- Trustworthiness, willingness to learn and improve, and technical curiosity.
Nice To Haves
- AV, IT, or low-voltage installation experience.
- Exposure to Crestron, Control4, Vantage, or Lutron systems.
Responsibilities
- Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling.
- Install and mount TVs, speakers, cameras, access points, and control devices.
- Read system drawings to plan installations and adapt to scope changes in the field.
- Build, wire, and organize equipment racks.
- Set up and configure devices.
- Troubleshoot devices, wiring, networking, and connectivity issues.
- Support on-call service as needed.
