At STERIS, Integration Technicians install and configure operating room integration systems. The role involves interpreting project documents such as proposals, port maps, wiring diagrams, and infrastructure drawings; installing equipment and terminating cables; using test equipment to confirm systems are installed and energized correctly; and verifying final system configuration with hospital networks. The work includes physical equipment placement, cable installation and interconnection, software downloads and configuration, and testing system functions against required documentation. This is a high-travel role requiring extensive driving in a company vehicle and travel to installation sites across the country, sometimes by air. Travel may involve day trips, overnight stays, or trips lasting up to a week, typically arranged one to three weeks in advance. Hours vary with customer needs, and overtime is common but not guaranteed. The technician generally works under an Integration Specialist I or II, or an Integration Project Manager, with limited direct supervision. The technician supports project installations, reports progress verbally and in writing, completes administrative tasks such as checklists, Siebel entries, expense reports, and time entries, and maintains professional conduct with customers and colleagues. The position requires following customer facility protocols and STERIS and customer health and safety procedures. It is safety sensitive. STERIS conducts a seven-year driving record check as part of onboarding.
