AV Installation Technician, Lead

About The Position

Visual Sound is seeking an experienced Lead AV Install Technician in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The role involves building racks and installing projectors, screens, flat panels, and other audio-visual equipment, including cabling, fiber optics, and control units. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Some out-of-town travel may be required.

Requirements

At least three years of experience installing audio-visual equipment, including video panels, speakers, racks, microphones, and AV cabling and wiring.
An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or at least two years of experience in an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of loading and troubleshooting Crestron, Extron, AMX, and Biamp control systems; programming is not required.
Ability to read CAD-generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Basic English reading and writing proficiency.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Ability to lift 50–60 pounds, climb, crawl, and raise items overhead.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of installing and configuring Dolby audio systems.
Experience with Cisco networking, including routers, switches, and configuring wireless networks.
AVIXA CTS and/or CTS-I certification.

Responsibilities

Install audio-visual products and components according to blueprints and specifications.
Pull cable, install connectors, mount and hang projectors using ceiling mounts, and perform metal fabrication.
Assist with mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring.
Load and configure Crestron control systems.
Assist with and perform installation tasks in a timely and quality-conscious manner.
Troubleshoot audio-visual devices, including advanced troubleshooting.
