About The Position

Marksman Security is hiring an Auxiliary Security Officer to provide security services in El Segundo and Long Beach, California. The officer monitors surroundings for suspicious activity, controls access to buildings, responds to emergencies, conducts patrols, documents incidents, and provides customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors. Open availability is required. The position pays $24.00 per hour.

Requirements

Valid California BSIS Guard Card.
At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service skills.
Familiarity with report writing.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Monitoring and surveillance experience.
Essential computer competencies.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
Comfort working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

Remain alert and observe surroundings for suspicious activity, potential threats, or disorderly conduct.
Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors display their badges.
Investigate unusual activities or report them to appropriate personnel.
Monitor access points and verify badges or identification to ensure only authorized individuals enter appropriate buildings.
Screen unauthorized individuals until their access is verified, prevent tailgating, and require individuals to swipe their own access cards at card readers.
Address trespassers promptly and remove them from the premises.
Respond swiftly to medical incidents, accidents, fires, and other emergencies; assist with evacuations, provide first aid, or call for help.
Use emergency protocols and communication systems.
Act as a visible deterrent to criminal activity.
Patrol platforms, parking lots, and other areas to help prevent theft, vandalism, and other crimes.
Maintain detailed records of incidents, disturbances, and unusual occurrences, and take accurate notes to support investigations and follow-up.
Assist employees, visitors, and contractors by providing information and customer service.
Provide directions, open doors, and greet employees, visitors, and contractors appropriately.
