About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Open Availability in Muscatine, Iowa. The role provides consistent hours at an assigned manufacturing and industrial site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The assigned anchor shift requires a six-month commitment. The position is part-time, with the opportunity to build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. Pay is $18.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Tuesday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a manufacturing and industrial location while following site-specific security procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including production spaces, offices, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor site access by verifying credentials, observing visitor and contractor entry, and reporting irregularities according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following emergency response protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Complete activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
