About The Position

This role will ensure alignment between the CAT Technology product group and the development of crucial electrical components that are being developed for next generation technology. They will provide technical leadership on complex solutions for robotics hardware development while delivering quality products that meet our needs on budget and on time.

Requirements

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited curriculum.
Proven experience in hardware development including but not limited to electrical components
Systems Engineering and Project Management experience, ability to manage complex projects

Nice To Haves

Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Materials Science.
Prior experience in Construction and/or Mining industry
Experience in Autonomy & Automation preferred
Prior experience with Caterpillar products and tools preferred

Responsibilities

Be responsible for the full life cycle development of all major autonomous haulage system 2.0 component development.
Be responsible for on-time delivery of AHS 2.0 components to meet machine NPI timelines.
Be the liaison or single point of contact between the Product Group Technical leads and Component Design Engineers for the AHS 2.0 electrical components deeply understanding the product group needs and ensure that the AHS 2.0 components will meet those needs.
Responsible for reliability of the AHS 2.0 components by reviewing validation plans written by the component leads and assisting with the validation execution, as well as tracking of quality issues and managing any obsolescence.
