About The Position

Two Rivers Marketing is seeking an experienced Marketing Automation Strategist to join their freelance network. This partner will provide consultation and strategic guidance across CRM, marketing automation, email marketing, and customer journey development. The role involves working independently with support from the internal team to assist in the planning and execution of data-driven communication strategies and automation campaigns. This is a contract role where projects will be assigned based on availability and specific expertise.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of full-time experience in digital marketing, advertising, or public relations, with a minimum of 2 years managing and executing multi-channel digital marketing or automation campaigns.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Marketo, or Pardot.
  • Proficiency in CRM & Data tools like Salesforce CRM and customer data platforms.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, Google Search Console.
  • Proficiency in email development using HTML/CSS for email formatting.
  • Understanding of agency processes and the ability to jump into client work quickly.
  • Availability for on-site strategy sessions and collaboration meetings in Des Moines as needed.
  • Must provide own computer and primary software licenses.

  • Progress toward or completion of relevant platform certifications, preferably Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the end-to-end execution of customer relationship marketing (CRM) strategies, including planning, setup, deployment, and optimization of marketing automation campaigns.
  • Support the formulation of email marketing strategies and segmentation frameworks that drive personalization and customer engagement.
  • Oversee customer data hygiene and segmentation strategies to ensure proper targeting and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Serve as a primary user for marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Marketo, or Pardot), ensuring integration with other martech tools.
  • Develop advanced KPIs and regular performance reports to identify optimization opportunities and track program effectiveness.
  • Lead thorough QA testing, including content accuracy, link functionality, and rendering across email clients and platforms.
  • Work closely with account and project management teams to help define scope and recommended technical approaches for digital projects.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable processes, QA protocols, and best practice documentation for lead generation and database management.
  • Manage your own schedule to ensure project milestones and budgets are met; submit detailed time logs for billing accuracy.
