The Autonomy Software Engineer will work as part of a close-knit team to design, develop, implement, integrate, test, and demonstrate advanced algorithms and software systems for autonomous platforms. The role supports programs across the software and systems development lifecycle, from early prototypes through integrated systems. Work includes developing software tools and applications for mission-planning systems, automated control processes, unmanned platforms, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines. The role is part of STR’s Collaborative Autonomy and Control Group in the Analytics & C2 Division, which develops technologies for uncrewed-system autonomy, multi-agent collaboration, resource management, and control. The position is based in Woburn, Massachusetts, or Arlington, Virginia, with a flexible hybrid arrangement; remote work is welcome when work does not require STR facilities.
