About The Position

The Automotive Valet is responsible for service-lane management and performing tasks and errands for the dealership service department. The role supports customer satisfaction and the dealership’s continued success by greeting and directing customers, managing vehicle flow, and assisting service advisors and technicians. The position involves substantial standing and walking around showrooms and car lots, as well as working in various weather conditions. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable, safe driving record.
• Strong communication skills with customers and DARCARS employees.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, and converse comfortably with customers.
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand for long periods in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.

• Ability to operate manual vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
• Greet every customer with a smile.
• Direct customers to their desired destinations when parking or retrieving vehicles.
• Assist with service write-up and tagging customer vehicles.
• Help maintain efficient vehicle flow within the dealership as service tickets are generated.
• Move client vehicles to and from the shop and assist service advisors and technicians with tasks needed to complete service visits.
• Provide shuttle service to customers when requested.
• Report situations or conditions that jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, employees, or customers to management.
• Maintain cleanliness of the service area, keeping the floor clean and dry as necessary.
• Remove garbage.
• Clean driveways and walkways, removing debris, ice, and snow as necessary.
• Comply with DARCARS policies and procedures.
• Assist in dealer exchanges.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by a supervisor.
