About The Position

Revology Cars is hiring an experienced Upholstery Technician to build and install world-class, premium-quality interiors for its reproduction 1960s Mustangs. Upholstery technicians at Revology Cars create world-class premium interiors for 1960s Mustang automobiles. The upholstery department cuts, sews, and fits leather seat upholstery, trims seats, and wraps interior trim panels in leather and vinyl. Some upholstery techs also install carpet, interior trim panels, and/or convertible tops. We use premium OEM materials, including Nappa leather from Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, and Rolls-Royce, and 100% wool square weave carpet. The variety of jobs available means there is a path to career growth as a technician becomes more skilled.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of upholstery experience.
  • Capable of taking patterns and making templates from scratch.
  • Capable of using single and double needle machines.
  • Capable of inspecting hides and knowledge of common defects.
  • Capable of solving problems.
  • Experienced machine operator.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, standing and walking much of the time, and with a certain amount of manual dexterity.
  • Ability to maneuver into, around, and about vehicles or components on an assembly line.
  • Ability to learn, remember, and maintain pace of steps involved in performing a job after instruction, training, and familiarization with the tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perceive differences in very specific details when inspecting parts or work performed, checking for defects or quality issues, or when distinguishing various parts/components by identification number or code.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Able to plan, organize, and manage work effectively.
  • Ability and willingness to follow work instructions and do things the same way, to the same high standard of quality, every time.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use, or willingness to learn how to use, an iPad.

Responsibilities

  • Build and install world-class, premium-quality interiors for reproduction 1960s Mustangs.

  • Trim seats.
  • Wrap interior trim panels in leather and vinyl.
  • Install carpet, interior trim panels, and/or convertible tops.
  • Take patterns and make templates from scratch.
  • Operate single and double needle machines.
  • Inspect hides and identify common defects.
  • Solve problems.
  • Perform manual labor, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Maneuver into, around, and about vehicles or components on an assembly line.
  • Reach, twist, and bend as required for tasks.
  • Learn, remember, and maintain the pace of steps involved in performing a job.
  • Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Perceive differences in very specific details when inspecting parts or work performed.
  • Work in a team environment, including helping co-workers.
