About The Position

The Automotive Title Clerk position at Crossroads Ford of Sumter is a full-time role responsible for maintaining confidentiality and processing all title documents accurately and efficiently. This includes handling titling requirements for dealer trade, wholesale, and retail/lease transactions, both local and out-of-state. The role also involves preparing checks for title work and refunds, monitoring schedules, tracking daily deals and title issues, and posting manufacturer invoices. Additionally, the position requires staying current with applicable laws, completing end-of-month accounting tasks, and representing the dealership professionally to customers and vendors.

Requirements

  • Prior Title Clerk and Automotive experience preferred.
  • Prolonged periods of personal computer usage and data entry.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of all documents and transactions.
  • Prepare and process title documents for dealer trade and wholesale transactions, observing all titling requirements.
  • Post dealer trade and wholesale deals.
  • Prepare checks as necessary for title work and customer refunds.
  • Monitor corresponding schedules for title work.
  • Track daily deals and daily title issues.
  • Post manufacturer invoices as necessary.
  • Stay current with applicable laws related to titling.
  • Prepare and process retail and lease tag and title documents and all titling transactions for local and out-of-state titling.
  • Process all titling documents through either the electronic vehicle registration program or through DMV offices.
  • Post all titling transactions and monitor corresponding schedules.
  • Properly represent the dealership to its customers and vendors in a friendly manner.
  • Complete end-of-month accounting requirements as assigned by supervisor.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
